The latest reference prices released by The Steel Index show that European rebar prices have fallen slightly since last week, while plate prices are unchanged. US plate reference price FOB Midwest mill fell by $8/short ton to $573/s. ton ($632/t). The average US plate delivery time is just shorter than last week at 6.4 weeks.
The Northern European plate ex-works reference price is now at €459/tonne ($686/t). The average delivery lead-time is shorter at 4.3 weeks. The southern European plate reference price is unchanged from last week’s level, and the average delivery time is also unchanged from last week at 5.6 weeks.
The northern European rebar reference price fell from last week to €328/tonne ($491/t), and the average delivery lead-time is longer at 3.5 weeks. The average LME Mediterranean billet price for last week was $360/tonne, making the spread to TSI's northern European rebar price $131/t.
The southern European rebar reference price ex-works also fell by €9/t from last week’s level. The spread to the average LME Mediterranean billet price fell by $18/t from the previous week. The average delivery lead-time for rebar is unchanged from last week at 2.8 weeks.
