Billet- A semi-finished round or square solid metal product, generally hot worked by forging.
Boring- to make hole through with a drill or other rotating tool or machinery
Bright Annealed- annealing process carried out in a controlled atmosphere furnace (or vacuum) in order to reduce oxidisation to a minimum and keep the material surface relatively bright.
Brinnel Hardness- the relative hardness of metals and alloys, determined by forcing a steel ball into a test piece under standard test conditions and measuring the resulting indentation in the surface area.
Brittleness- is the liability of a material to fracture under stress
Burr- the rough sharp edges remaining on material after it has been cut, drilled or machined.
Butt Joint- a joint made by fastening ends together without overlapping
Butt Weld- a butt joint that is welded
